Saturday 08/25 Two long days in Oklahoma (Checotah, Elk City)

Sorry to leave Hot Springs. Here's my campsite, which I had not yet pictured.

Weird little campground. No shade, no internet. Muddy lake. Left early.

But not before the pups had great fun in the muddy lake.

And the lovely trails.

And there were a couple of turkeys. Word.

So we moved on to the campsite's identical twin sister a few hours down the road.

And I had to do some laundry - probably just time anyway (although I had fantasies of making the last few days home without doing it again)... but puppies brought sand into my bed (again).  So that was the first order of business at this hot windy charmless campground. At least it has a large dog park and I took the pups for a nice walk, too. Then I tucked them away in the air conditioning and nipped off to the Route 66 museum.
