… Big Prarie

Imagine my excitement when browsing Harvest Host sites along my general route and I see “Ingalls Homestead.” Yes indeed, the Little House on the Prairie itself. And The Little Town on the Prairie!

They invite you to bring your dogs through the exhibits and even on the horse drawn carriage ride and the little demonstrations in the barn and the school house. They have the Ingalls actual carriage there. This was really a thrill for me.

They let us camp in parking lot and there were six other RVs but I got their first and got a picture when it was just me.

Me and Toph are on the wagon. Yuk yuk yuk.

The actual schoolhouse. And the actual desks! Teacher passed around slates and schoolbooks that were actually used when Laura Ingalls was there. Really took me back to a place that still lives in my imagination.
