2015 My moment with Sir Paul

I decided I must seem him in person, so newly single and without anyone I thought would be willing to join me, I bought a ticket for the closest concert and drove five hours to the venue. My seat was good — most of the time about 30 rows back. But only one row away from the T part that came out into the audience. Near the end of the convert, Paul paid tribute to his writing partner, John Lennon, talking about him then playing Imagine. The audience swayed and some began to hold up a fist. You know, like a power fist. No! Wrong! I looked around, shook my head and stuck up two fingers in a peace sign. Looking back up, Paul McCartney was standing at the end of the T, maybe 6’ away from me. He saw my head shake and my peace sign, nodded to me in approval and put up a peace sign, too. It was a small but profound moment of shared history between little ol’ me and the musical giant Sir Paul McCartney.
