I plan my long camper trips around weddings.

This year it is cousin Alan and his lovely bride-to-be Kenzie getting married in beautiful Maine.
Last time, in December of 2016 it was back to our old homeland of South Florida for Brad and Jenny's wedding.

The one in-between wasn't for a wedding, though. Last year we went just to take Baloo places that he would enjoy - and on the way got to meet some cousins on my dad's side that I never knew.  Rhiannon was able to join me for that one. That was July 2017. (Did not blog that trip, may have to do a retrospective.)

As for the 'wedding trips', they were both one month trips and included a detour through DC to see Alex, both times.

Ten wheels (count the bicycle that comes along) and ten legs (lost our beloved Baloo since the last one, but still have Topher and Ninja.)

This time, to escape the suffocating Las Vegas heat, the plan is to go North for a bit, catch the I-80 across and hopefully run into some more moderate temperatures.

I have plans along the way to hang out, at least for a short time, with lots of people of whom I am very fond but rarely see. I also have some bucket list items to check-off along the way. (Mainly Niagara Falls.)

Most of my kids will meet me in Maine for the wedding and spend a few days. Rhiannon will go home for work. Adrienne, Aristotle and my crew will mosey down the eastern seaboard to see the remaining kid in DC, also visiting fond friends for fabulous fun along the way.

In DC we'll split. Adrienne and Aristotle flying to Florida to visit his mom and other family, get together with friends and, of course, pop into a comedy club or two like the victors they are returning from the limelight of LA, bringing some of that glow with them.

I'll strike West at that point and have some more meetings with friends as well as some bucket-list adventures (mainly the Clinton Library in Little Rock) planned for myself before I trundle back onto my street and execute the camper shuffle and settle in.

I will post updates along the way on Facebook, but more detail here. These blogs were mostly read by people who have either left this earth or don't care about my doings on it anymore, so I really still only do them for my own memories. Sometimes details that are interesting to no one else, but I like having the record.

For now, I'm ready to go, but must fly out for a business trip tomorrow. I return with one last day to get ready and get out of here. I can do it!

Come along.
