Getting there

My friend Peter agreed to accompany me. He’s the only person who will go camping with me in my tiny trailer and we’ve done it enough that we’ve worked out most of the hard part. It’s chaos, but we seem to get by. I’m not a fan of driving too hard, so I planned three nights at Harvest Host locations on the way. One was a beautiful ranch in the Ruby mountains of Nevada where a scientist and author taught us about how composting and microbes are going to save the world (seriously,) another was a lavender farm where the lovely couple showed us what they are growing and how they process it to create lavender products (which we bought, of course.) The third one was a place to stay. We bought eggs and strawberries.
