Everything’s coming up Lavender

The day was scheduled with four hours of driving, but I left early and got to my next Harvest Host location early. I wanted to be able to see the place, purchase my requisite lavender items and then unhitch and drive the 40 minutes to visit with Juliene, Richie and MarriHelen.

[If you don’t know, Juliene is my oldest friend, now. She has been promoted to oldest because I stopped hanging with the two women I’ve known longer, sadly.) She will love this new designation because when we met I was a too-young freshman in college and couldn’t go to bars… she called me punk. She stopped calling me that when she turned thirty. We were in each other’s (first) weddings and had kids around the same time. It is one of my greatest joys that our kids are friends, now.]

Anyway… I didn’t get to go visit her that afternoon because it turned out a big storm was coming and a tornado watch would be in effect all afternoon. I was advised not to be out on the road and also I don’t unhitch if the winds will get scary high-need the weight of my truck to help hold the trailer. So I upgraded to one of their electric sites, and they had great wifi. I bought some lavender stuff and then I went back and bought more lavender stuff. Then walked the dogs a bit, hung out, took a few pictures.

Next morning I took truck and trailer, parked at a church lot near Juliene’s house and she came to get me. We hung out at her house and ordered take out for lunch. I got lucky getting to see Richie because he’d been home visiting for a bit but would be leaving in another day or two.

Stupidly we didn’t take pictures of ourselves hanging out together. MarriHelen took a silly picture of me and Juliene as we were leaving, I’ll try to post it.

Pictures: The offering of fresh eggs for free — under that buffet cover thing because the owner says otherwise the hens will come sit on them. :) Then the purple building is where you buy the lavender. The next are pictures of my camper parked, dogs walking, lavender growing and the incredible setup at this place for $20/night. (Or you can stay free at one of the other two sites, which was my original intention, but I decided I needed power if I would be stuck there for so long in the rain (can’t run the generator in the rain.)
