2021 Winter Florida (begin)
My plans were made, reservations banked in, packing was on schedule… when suddenly the doctor said my granddaughter must be delivered before the pregnancy destroyed my daughter’s liver. So I canceled everything, threw my stuff in a hodgepodge into the camper and made new reservations on a much more aggressive schedule and loaded up the dogs.
Stella (my camper) and I parked in the yard for two months, during which time my first grandchild was born and after six weeks, my other kids started showing up for other festivities.
First we went to the Keys and shared a giant Airbnb with our whole family and the groom’s family. We had a rehearsal-dinner style barbecue, laughs and tears at a beautiful beach wedding, went boating and ate ludicrous amounts of Key Lime Pie.
Back to the house, we spent Christmas Eve together traditionally—cooking a big meal and opening presents. Having all my ducklings together is always amazing to me. On Christmas Day Adrienne, Zane, Alex, and I went to see the new Matrix movie and then out for sushi (no pictures.)
This gallery of pictures are in the order of their occurrence. Ayla born 10/28. I ran a turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning. Adrienne and Zane got married. We rented a boat one day in the Keys. We cooked breakfast for the masses at the Airbnb, then cooked a feast and opened presents on Christmas Eve at the Green House.
