Pasture-ized
This place is probably a real hoot when they are truly open Thursday - Sunday.
I arrived on a Monday when they are closed. Check them out here, even if you weren’t staying in a camper this would be worth the 9 mile mosey down the “Old San Antonio Trail” to enjoy food and show and general shenanigans.
I stayed in their pasture across the street. Had the place to myself. There are two campers parked there, you’ll see them in one of the pictures, but those are perma-parked, I guess. No one there.
The dogs could scamper about freely and we visited with goats and donkeys. They have the pasture marked off with multiple sites, each with their own fire ring. I rarely make a fire and I don’t think I’ve ever done it when it’s just me. But it’s a nice touch. They even have a porta-potty out there. I imagine this is because people were peeing in the wild. I use my camper’s bathroom, thank you.
The only bad thing here is that they warn on the profile that if it’s raining you should stay up on the gravel road. So in the morning when I saw the rain rolling in, I figured I better leave. I went along the small backroads for a bit, then hit the I-10 and pulled into a truck stop. Kicked up the generator and worked for a couple of hours, then moseyed over to my next site.
