Family (& a bad campground)
The special joy that comes from staying at a paid campsite—with water and electric and sewer—is diminished in this awful little campground run by a petty tyrant. Perched on a hilltop, the camper is battered by winds when I’m not berated by the manager. Stayed two nights but spent most of my time elsewhere, anyway. Got laundry done again (necessitated by Ninja and the orange soda.) I need to do a bit of grocery shopping, will have to stop on the way with the camper, today. Close to out of a couple of essentials-dog food and coffee cream. And I’ll be staying remote for the next few days, so need to be stocked up.
I chose this campground because the price was right (now I know why) and because it allowed me to be camped down the road from cousin Michelle, who is just getting settled into her new gorgeous 5th wheel camper, and got to meet up with and take the dogs hiking with cousin Melanie. She has this local park where all the trails are off-leash for dogs. So you scamper along and run into so many other dogs scampering about. It’s wonderful.
Melanie and I then met up with cousin Michelle and her mother Dawn at a good Mexican restaurant. The four of us had great laughs. Then I went and hung out with Michelle for a bit more and talked about trip planning—a subject that interests me. I offered surely too much advice, but had fun.
I took no pictures of all this family fun. Which is just dumb, but there it is. Here are some found-on-the-internet pics.
The RV Park - that hilltop is where I parked (and swayed.) The Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park off-leash dog trails (2 pics.) Torchy’s where I lunched with cousins Melanie, Michelle and Dawn.
